Wardolf salad, perfect for brunch!
The perfect salad for brunch!
For about 4 people, as a side
3 cups lettuce (ideally Boston), torn
1 cup red grapes, halved, or 3/4 cup raisins, or dried cranberries (Nutra-Fruit Orange Cranberries are just decadent and perfect for that!!).
1 cup pecans or walnuts or almonds, toasted
3 celery stalks, minced
1 apple, cored and thinly sliced
In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients except the nuts. Put the walnuts just before serving.
Vaigrette
1/4 cup of mayonnaise
2 tbsp. cider vinegar
1 tbsp. old-fashioned mustard
1 tbsp. maple syrup
1 tbsp. lemon juice
Salt and pepper
In a bowl, whisk together all the ingredients. Pour over salad.
This salad reminds me of the sweets of Maine!!
