Keftas: around the world in one bite
I have eaten it in so many countries. Everyone makes them their own way, with their own mix of spices. So me too!
The famous keftas, which can be eaten in bite-sized portions as well as in sandwiches or as a complete dish! I could give you plenty of recipes for making them. Here's the base, which is a delicious bite just as is.
For about 4 people
1 slice of bread
1 egg
1/4 cup of milk
500g ground beef
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp. 7 spice Lebanese spices A Spice Affair(available on the Madame Germaine store) or your spice mix (eg: cumin, paprika, coriander seeds ground, turmeric, ...)
Salt and pepper, to taste
A little spiciness, to taste
Coriander, parsley and fresh mint, to taste (add some, it's not ointment!!)
In a small bowl, soak the bread with the milk for 10 minutes to soften it well.
In a large bowl, add all the ingredients and mix well. Form elongated meatballs and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake in the oven at 350F for about 25 minutes, or until they are completely cooked (depending on the size of your droppings! haha!).
Serve with spicy mayonnaise!
